The character “無” (mu) originates from the ancient form of “舞” (dance).
It was originally written as “無雩 (bu’u)”, referring to a ritual rain-dance.
“無” signifies the source from which existence (有) is born.
The sound “mu” conveys connection, harmony, and the bonds of auspicious human relationships.
In my work, I breathe life into the character by giving it bones, flesh, and sinew—a living body of script.
