The character for sound was originally created by adding “一” to “言” (word).
Sound was born from the subtle vibrations made in ritual vessels when people offered prayers to the gods and received divine words in return.

When receiving a blessing at a Shinto shrine, sound, humans, and gods become a trinity.
Sound resonates, humans dance, and from silence emerges sound.
Sound is full of mystery.

In my work, I breathe life into characters by giving them bones, flesh, and sinew—a living body of script.
